Ada & Woolf

Our name sake

Named after two extraordinary women who changed the world

The two founders of Ada & Woolf at our space in Double Bay

Ada Lovelace (the world’s first computer programmer and numbers guru) & Virginia Woolf (who transformed the way we understand literature) inspired Georgina Jarvis (Registered Psychologist) and Stephanie Allen (Law Graduate) to form Ada & Woolf.

Who we are

We are a collective of passionate educators, psychologists & mentors

Ada & Woolf is a team with over 30 years combined experience. We are dedicated to elevating the learning journey.

We combine academic excellence with emotional intelligence, offering students not only rigorous skill-building but also guidance in mindset, wellbeing, and self-belief.

Our approach

Tutoring done differently

We elevate education through personalised strategy, psychological insight, and a community designed to support students in both learning and life after school.

Our approach is deliberate, thoughtful, and rooted in a passion for our craft: we teach students how to learn, why they learn, and who they can become through the process.

We built the Ada & Woolf Method, a results-driven system that pairs strategic, structured teaching with positive psychology.

How we teach

Study smart, then hard

Every session runs to one deliberate shape — 5 minutes of strategic planning, 40 minutes of focussed, high-impact tutoring, and 5 minutes to set homework and next steps. No busywork, no guesswork.

One deliberate session shape, a personalised portal for every student where families, tutors and students can collaborate.

Between sessions, each student’s personalised student planner keeps the plan in view. Progress is a record everyone shares, not a report that arrives too late to matter.
